Norway, Germany, England, Russia, Belarus are just a few countries where you can meet people dressed in clothes chosen by Ilona and Lina and sold in their Nojurtė store. The couple admit that it is nice to see photos of famous people capturing the costumes they bought for the photoshoot.

“It’s good that a lot of people like it, but we don’t pretend to be famous using the names of famous people. All of our clients are very dear to us, we’ve already become friends in twelve years of work. Not a single one says they just put their suitcases and came to say hello. We do not rush people who come shopping, we communicate and long-term customers know it perfectly. If there are more people in the store, it happens that you just go for a walk and then you visit again, “he says. I. Lauciuvienė.

Spouses joke that they are growing up not only with clients but also after them.

“We started the business by cleaning the cabinet. The children’s clothes were beautiful, pitiful discarded, not given to anyone. We went to the” Uodo “market, to the market, we sold clothes, shoes and toys. The son now graduated from high school , the daughter is twelve years old. She grew up with her clothes, with her toys, so we decided to sell those things that are still very good and thus get the money back, “the husbands complement each other.” The people who came to us kept asking if we had something else, “which led us to look for goods that we could trade. We started to think about it ourselves and found an Italian company; their models were really exceptional. That’s where we started our business.”

Ilona and Linas say they have been doing everything together since the early days. Even fate similarly brought them to Palanga. Ilona from Šilutė already had a job there, her relatives invited her to work in Palanga. Linas, who was already working in the service field in Tauragė, was invited to work in Palanga by some friends. The couple, who now live in a twenty-year marriage, say they didn’t meet when they arrived until one day their friends invited me to the wedding and they were in the couple.

“We just realized that we both thought the same and now we were working together. Sometimes until the second hour of the night we choose a new collection together, we talk, we count what to buy. We have between 200 and 300 models at a time, work It’s hard, but when you like your job you go to a party ”, the woman smiles.

The couple reveal that the impetus to finally build their store was the economic crisis. People who have worked and lived in Palanga since 1991 have had fewer and fewer jobs, employers have been unable to offer better wages, and the needs of growing children have grown together. So when the crisis hit, they both firmly decided that it was time to find a location and build a store. They found the first store in Telšiai and, as the circle of buyers grew, the couple did not give up the idea of settling in Palanga.

“Palanga is a resort town, there are two main streets here: Vytautas and J. Basanavičius. The rent in those places is huge, so we took a risk when we found the premises here, on Jūratės street. Although right next to it – the municipality , the court, before us the commerce in these premises did not last long – every few months the tenants changed. And we believed that we would come with a good product, so we would find our buyer. And now we continue working in the same place “, he opens Ilona.

Lin says it was buyers who encouraged them to start trading, so they continue to grow with buyers. With the growth of small customers, the couple has already started looking for clothes not only for children but also for adults.

“Our clients are growing, as is the supply. Come on, let’s say, I need some jacket, pants. When we find it, he says the shirts would be good, so we look for them too,” laughs Linas.

“All clients are welcome with us, we contact them, we explain what they want. It is strange for us when we go to the supermarkets, there you choose something, pay and that’s it. And here, customers come quietly waiting for them to arrive, show if there are more people, just take a walk and visit a little later. We are not in a rush to serve because people want to communicate. And now, after the restrictions of the second strict quarantine, people can go back to buy, touch, communicate. Everyone really missed him, ”adds Ilona.

The most expensive and elegant clothes, according to the spouses, were also encouraged by customers, so it is now possible to find products ranging between 15 and a few hundred euros. The couple say they have an opinion on discounts, so if you already find a discount in their stores, it’s real.

“We are one of those who cannot pretend. The consultant told us that ‘discount’ is a magic word for people and that trading is not possible without it, but then you have to increase the price and indicate that a discount has been made. We are so free. If we already specify a discount, it is real. Sometimes, a quality garment simply does not find a buyer for a while. Then we sell at cost price, and sometimes even cheaper ”, another secret of customer retention to long term is revealed by entrepreneurs.

The couple say that as the store became more popular in the summers, the geographic circle also expanded. So, shoes or clothes were sent to various countries during the crisis. And while not all businesses have survived, spouses say they have managed to maintain a long-term buyer circle and, through live broadcasts, attract new ones.

In addition, you can not only find exclusive clothing in stores. The desire to offer people something unusual led the couple to another business – the creation of orthopedic shoe models with the help of an Italian designer.

“It just came to our attention then. We found a designer from Italy, he works in a factory in Turkey. We ourselves choose the leather, in which we spend more time on models, and there we spend more time. Shoes are the most difficult to make. sell. We all meet the orthopedic requirements, we have plates that are put on the shoes. When you buy the first ones, as a child grows, you usually go back to look for the largest ones, “says L. Laucius.

Spouses find that people are increasingly looking for quality, even though it takes a lot of time and effort to grow a client. As a result, all family members have to test the products before selling the new company’s products. When she was little, her daughter became an expert in winter boots; It didn’t really freeze or get your feet wet, as the manufacturer promised. And Ilona and Linas buy clothes from the same companies, whose products are also offered to customers.

Not only the customers, but also the children had to be raised while working, so when they set up the first store, the family tried to combine the time for one parent to spend time with the children while the other worked. The son has already found his way and the teenage daughter is still helping parents select teen collections. Lin laughs that there is not enough time for the family, not because they are drowning at work, but because the children have grown up: “Now I ask my daughter to give me time.” Grandparents also helped maintain a warm relationship. . Ilona and Linas say that what they created in two is not just the work of the two of them: the support of their loved ones and the grandparents who surrounded the young children with care and love in the summer became a strong support for the family start a business together.
