“The COVID-19 vaccine population is currently not being re-registered without enough vaccines (…). The plans had to be changed yesterday April 26, after receiving information from the Ministry of Health (SAM) on the redistribution of vaccines, ”the municipality reported.

According to Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca, the number of vaccines available is only sufficient for the booster vaccination, that is, people who should receive the second dose of the vaccine will also be vaccinated and those who have previously registered in the system will not be vaccinated – your registration will not be revoked.

Klaipėda residents are registered for vaccination on the website vakcinavimasklaipedoje.lt.

According to the municipality, the ministry reported that more doses of the Pfizer vaccine were administered to Vilnius “after assessing the difficult epidemiological situation in Vilnius and the situation in hospitals.”

At that time, the Klaipėda vaccination centers received 2,160 doses instead of the planned 4,536.

“Due to the lower number of vaccines received in Klaipėda, the additional vaccination option provided to traders had to be canceled without prior registration. The renewal of the vaccination registry will be decided upon receiving a new shipment of vaccine, ”announces the municipality of Klaipėda.

Currently, residents 65 and over, as well as those with chronic diseases, have been invited to register for vaccination in the port city, and their vaccination is scheduled to continue after receiving enough vaccinations.

On Monday, the SAM announced that due to the difficult epidemiological situation in Vilnius, it was decided to redistribute vaccine shipments and allocate 44 percent to vaccination centers in the capital. of the total number of vaccines received, that is, 46 thousand. 512 doses. Part of this amount – 19.8 thousand. previously planned for other municipalities.

This outraged the heads of other municipalities. According to them, the neighbors had already been invited to be vaccinated, and due to this redistribution, their invitation had to be canceled. Vilnius Mayor Remigijus Šimašius admitted that the additional vaccines will help to manage the deteriorating situation, but called the method of administration unacceptable.
