More companies join British billionaire campaign

The companies joined the campaign, started by billionaire hedge fund manager Chris Hohn, urging companies to improve their emissions reporting practices and climate strategies.

In mid-February, Glencore announced that shareholders would have the opportunity to vote on the company’s climate policy initiatives at the annual general meeting in April. Rio Tinto announced the company’s plans to vote on the reports of the Climate-Related Financial Disclosure Task Force (TCFD) at its 2022 annual meeting.

Unilever Plc. And Royal Dutch Shell Plc. They are among the companies that have joined Ch. Hohn’s commitment campaign, Say on Climate, was launched last November by his charity, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation. The charity said it plans to formally present shareholder decisions to “hundreds of the world’s top companies” in 2022 in order to pressure them to take action on climate change.
