The article examines a recent study by researchers at the University of Oxford. It is important to emphasize that the aforementioned study is still in a very early stage and has not been reviewed by other researchers.
The goal of this study was not to show which vaccine can increase the risk of blood clots, but to show that COVID-19 causes a much higher risk of blood clots than the risk of getting vaccinated.
The authors of the study, which included 513,284 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19, reached the following conclusions:
- Twenty cases of cerebral venous thrombosis were detected in the study patients. This would mean that blood clots in the brain recur 39 times per million people with COVID-19;
