Another 323 cases of “British” and 2 cases of South African coronavirus detected in Lithuania

377 samples were analyzed in the laboratory of the Santara Clinics of the Vilnius University Hospital (VUL SK). Of these, 294 cases are assigned to line B.1.1.7. This variety represents 85 percent. (154/182) Vilnius, 81 percent. (39/48) Kaunas, 22 percent. (2/9) Klaipeda, 91 percent. (31/34) Alytus, 77 percent. (27/35) Utena, 70 percent. (14/20) Marijampolė, 33 percent. (3/9) Panevėžys, 75 percent. (6/8) Tauragės, 88 percent. (7/8) Telšiai and 52 percent. (11/21) VUL SK samples from Šiauliai county tested this week. Also mentioned here are the previous 2 new cases caused by the B.1.351 virus line, the distribution of which in the counties is adjusting.

47 samples were analyzed in the laboratory of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU), 29 of them belong to line B.1.1.7. These cases represent 100%. (4/4) Vilnius, 40 percent. (2/5) Kaunas, 100 percent. (1/1) Utena, 83 percent. (15/18) Marijampolė and 50 percent. (7/14) Panevėžys County LSMU last analyzed the samples.

To date, a total of 4065 samples have been sequenced and 1646 cases of virus lines B.1.1.7 and 10 B.1.351 have been detected in Lithuania, according to the sequencing project coordinated by NVSPL.
