According to the amendments adopted by the Government last week, more lenient quarantine requirements also apply in the territories of the city of Klaipėda, the districts of Neringa, Kupiškis and Utena, in a total of 49 municipalities.

This means that primary school students in these municipalities can go back to school.

According to data from Klaipėda Municipality, 7590 primary school students can return to city schools without taking the test using the cumulative method of students and teachers.

The Cabinet of Ministers has decided that more lenient quarantine measures can be introduced in municipalities, where the number of new COVID-19 cases in two weeks does not exceed 300 cases per 100,000. population. Until then, the threshold was 200 cases.

As of Monday, sports, leisure and entertainment activities and clubs in open spaces are also allowed with greater freedom.

In addition, in all the municipalities of the country, the libraries and reading rooms of the state archives can renew their activities and physically attend to visitors.

“Visitors hope to return to the library’s reading rooms. We know this is the case in other libraries in the country, because people don’t always have enough electronic resources. The research community especially needs rare documents to work in specialized reading rooms ”Said Renaldas Gudauskas, Director General of the Martynas Mažvydas National Library.

Libraries and archives must ensure that visitors to reading rooms are served by groups of no more than two people and that there is a minimum distance of two meters between people in reading rooms, except for members of the same family or members of the same household.

People over 6 years of age should wear protective gear that covers the nose and mouth, and other conditions necessary for the safe operation of reading rooms should be established.
