Last year, restrictions on movement between municipalities were exceptional, as several exits from the city were blocked 24 hours a day by physical barriers. For this, blocks were used.
This time, the blocks are being replaced by mobile posts and a wider range of police officers and social partners.
“There are so many forces planned for smooth work, smooth inspection. People who go to other municipalities by bus or train are also selectively controlled,” Kaunas police representative Odeta Vaitkevičienė told the portal kauno.diena.lt .
Deputy Chief of Police Arūnas Paulauskas, speaking about the intensive traffic control starting Friday, said that most of the mobile posts will operate during rush hours, but there are no plans to stop the plans and travelers at night, to check if they have an important reason. to cross municipal boundaries.
The restrictions on movement between municipalities came into effect on Saturday, March 27, and are in effect until Tuesday, April 6.

“The festive period is approaching, when a greater movement of people between municipalities is possible and, as a result, there is a greater risk of contact,” explained Health Minister Arūnas Dulkys.
This restriction does not apply to persons who are members of the same family or of a household who go to a municipality other than the one in which they reside, where they own real estate owned by one of the members of the family or household.
