According to her, after the merger of the Lazdynai and Karoliniškės polyclinics, more services will be available to patients at the Lazdynai polyclinic faster.
“The Lazdynai polyclinic did not have many services because it did not have specialists, infrastructure and there were insufficient funds. By expanding services, doctors will now be able to work in Lazdynai for some position, and if services are organized in Karoliniškės, transportation will be organized, ”said V. Turauskytė.
“By receiving a referral from a doctor, the patient will be able to receive a secondary consultation at their institution, without having to register at another institution. This should increase the speed of service delivery,” he added.
At that time, the reorganization should allow the Naujininkai and Naujoji Vilnia polyclinics to attract more qualified specialists.
“It just came to our knowledge then. For example, a urologist works. The office in Naujininkai has been organized, but actually it had 0.25 posts, and in Naujoji Vilnia there is no properly equipped office, no team and no urologist. Now it will be It is possible for a doctor to work full time in one of those institutions and the availability of services will increase immediately, ”he explained.
According to V. Turauskytė, it is possible that some services are transferred from one polyclinic to another, but which ones are not yet clear.

Currently, there is no direct connection between the Naujininkai and Naujoji Vilnia polyclinics, but a new public transport route is planned after the merger of these institutions.

As V. Turauskytė said, the reduction of positions in the four reorganized institutions is inevitable, but employees will be offered other positions.
“All the positions that are abolished will be offered other positions. Karoliniškės and Lazdynai are going to lose about 20 positions in total, but I want to emphasize that 13 of them are currently vacant, which does not threaten people with layoffs. ( …) Several positions in the newcomers will be abolished – support staff and managerial positions, ”said the head of the municipal health department.
He stressed that as a result of the organizational changes, neither the family doctor nor the place of provision of basic services will change for patients.
After the merger of the Karoliniškės and Lazdynai polyclinics, the number of patients in the new institution will exceed 85 thousand, and in Naujininkai and Naujoji Vilnia – 46 thousand. patients.
