We are currently focusing on age groups and consequently on other diseases and workers in the education system. And the larger groups must continue, where there is a lot of contact work, ”says the Minister.

It is difficult to reach older people

More recently, presidential adviser Simon Krėpšta said that vaccines for people over the age of eighty must be treated dramatically.

“In Lithuania, vaccination of those age groups started only in the second half of February and is now continuing. It seems it will take us a few more weeks to achieve a better result, currently it is less than fifty percent in those groups,” he says. the minister.

When asked why it’s harder to reach older people, the minister gave a couple of reasons, but said that even if people didn’t want to do it before and have now decided to get vaccinated, they certainly can.

“First of all, we are giving the municipalities some flexibility for a good week, because the fact that it is quite difficult to contact some age groups has stopped vaccinating other priority groups. In this case, the municipalities are trying, and as soon as these people are reached, despite the fact that other age groups have already been vaccinated, these people will not be left to their own devices as soon as they decide to get vaccinated, and it will be possible to do so. Another reason why people did not want to be vaccinated is the Astrazeneca vaccine – we have changed these rules and now it is possible to choose vaccines, we believe that this will increase the number of people who want to be vaccinated ”, says A. Dulkys.

How the mass registration will be carried out

When asked what to do for people with chronic illnesses, such as where they should go, the minister assured that they should first seek help from their doctor.

“Work is still being done on mass registration because the current capacity does not allow any citizen to register at the same time. There is still a special group of people working on this issue, who are working it together with the Records Center, and if you don’t want to wait, if you don’t want to wait, you should contact your doctor. and it will provide you with information and help you register, ”says A. Dulkys.

When asked what changes we can expect after Easter, the minister assured in the program that everything will be determined by the situation.

“The government will meet after the holidays and analyze the figures. Figuratively, I would say that everything will show how certain races will fare here now.
