Vilnius Rytas has elected nine representatives from the capital’s basketball community, who will form the club’s council for the next three years and held the first meeting on Wednesday.
The Council was presented with a draft strategy of the Rytas organization and openly discussed how to bring together the basketball-loving residents of Vilnius under the banner of Rytas, to unite the capital’s basketball schools into a common educational system for children and boys. youths.
The Council consists of representatives of the most active fan communities – Tomas Petkevičius, Gytis Anulis, Justinas Jankevičius, long-term captain of Vilnius Morning – Andrius Šležas, Vilnius basketball veteran – Arūnas Grigas, directors of the basketball schools of the capital: Vytenis Tupčiauskas and Andrius Čerškus, partners and sponsors of the representatives of Morning Gedas Saročka and Donatas Kazlauskas. Welcoming the council formed for the first time in the history of Lithuanian basketball organizations, Darius Gudelis, Chairman of the Ryto Board, emphasized that its objectives are to listen and listen to the initiatives and expectations of the Vilnius basketball community, monitor and advise the organization’s administration and promote dialogue and transparency.
Rytas must unite the entire Vilnius basketball community, from kindergarten children to seniors, the club must focus on developing young talents and strengthening the brand.
The most active discussions took place on the situation and role of the Vilnius children’s and youth sports schools and mutual cooperation. Specific initiatives have been taken to strengthen the club’s communication, marketing and branding.

It was agreed that in the next two weeks the council members would be divided into the areas of the organization’s activities in which they would like to participate directly and help the administration publicly.
“Since the morning, as a former player, I am still a fan of this club, as a coach I have contributed to the headquarters of the coaches of the RKL and NKL teams, so I was not far from the club.
All my heart is for “Tomorrow”. I want to participate in this council, give us advice, I hope things develop even more. I really liked it, I saw familiar faces for a long time and I leave the meeting inspired by such positive emotions, ”said legendary Rytas player Andrius Šležas.
“It is gratifying that the council, where all sides of Vilnius basketball can discuss and discuss the well-being of Rytas, has finally become a reality. It is important that this becomes long-term and that the decisions made are implemented.

The Council will act by simple majority, with each member having one vote.
“We first talked about the vision and mission of the club. Darius Gudelis presented the strategic directions of the organization, how the club could become a community team. We discussed how Vilnius residents could contribute to club development and community building.
I think the people of Vilnius will trust the city team and want to support it even more. In the future, it could be a very active body that would provide infinite benefits, ”said Andrius Čerškus, one of the founders of SKM.
