Manchester City legend Sergio Agüero has announced on his social media profile that this is his last season as “urban”.
According to Sky Sports, City coach Pep Guardiola met with the 32-year-old Argentine on Monday and informed him that the club would not extend the contract, which will expire in the summer.
Man City Manager Khaldoon Al Mubarak also revealed plans to unveil a statue of S. Aguero near the Etihad Stadium.
The forward has played for Manchester since 2011 and has won four Premier League titles, lifted the English League Cup five times and triumphed in the FA Cup.
Aguero is also the most productive “urban” player of all time, scoring 257 goals.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, several clubs were immediately interested in Agüero’s services, one of them was Barcelona. It is true that, as the same source affirms, the Argentine will not be in a hurry to make a decision about his future.
