Recently, a growing number of scientific publications indicate that it is appropriate to vaccinate relapses with a single dose. It is stated that after administering a dose of the vaccine, the level of antibodies does not change, that is, it does not increase, which means that a sufficient immune response develops after a dose of the vaccine.
A report from the Ministry of Health (SAM) says that if this theory is confirmed, it would shorten the two-dose vaccination schedule approved by vaccine manufacturers for people who have already had a coronavirus infection. Thus, vaccinating survivors with a single dose of vaccine would speed up the vaccination of other Lithuanians.
SAM notes that, to date, manufacturers have not provided data indicating the need for multiple-dose vaccination of people with relapse.
