Lithuanian at the UFC 260 Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Tournament in Las Vegas, USA. Modest Bukauskas (11-4) unsuccessfully returned to the cage and, by a different decision of the judges (28-29, 29-28, 28-29), lost to a Polish teammate Michalui Oleksiejczukui (15-4) and suffered a second consecutive defeat.
After the fight, both athletes raised their hands, but in the end only the Pole was happy. Both judges, MMA journalists and fans did not hesitate to agree that M. Bukauskas won the second round and M. Oleksiejczuk won the third round. The first round of discussions was the most controversial, in which 2 judges gave the Pole the victory, although M. Bukauskas’s shots in that round seemed louder and caused more damage to the opponent.
Meanwhile, MMA journalists around the world who saw the fight almost unanimously opposed the judges’ decision. Up to 17 of the 18 media outlets gave the victory to M. Bukauskas. Journalists from such famous portals as Bloody Elbow, MMA Junkie, Sherdog and Combat Press won Lithuania 29:28. Even the Polish journalist Dominikas Durniatas from Polsat Sport achieved the victory for Lithuania. One of the Combat Press representatives even saw the Lithuanian advantage in all three rounds. Of all the journalists who guessed the outcome of the fight, M. Oleksiejczuk was awarded the victory only by Matthew Wells, a representative of The Body Lock MMA.
Journalist Ratings:
In the first round, M.Bukauskas made more accurate accented shots (18 against 14) and tried to attack the opponent much more frequently (63 against 38). According to the body shots, the fighters were equal in this round (5 against 5), but the Lithuanian hit the opponent’s head more often (13 against 9). During a brief stretch of the assault, the fight took place in the clinic, where the Pole did absolutely nothing, and M.Bukauskas made 1 shot on goal out of every 5 attempts.
Impact statistics:
“Some scratches, but I don’t feel bad, even though the fight was very tough. The opponent was shocked, after the UFC lost fight against the Polish M.Oleksiejczuk (15-4, 1NC) sportas.lt told M.Bukauskas (11-4-0). “With all due respect to Michal, he’s a very good fighter, but I think I won 2 rounds of 3.”
Meanwhile, at the press conference, the Pole explained without hesitation about her victory: “Now it is difficult to talk about the fight, it would be necessary to review her record first, but after the final siren I did not doubt my victory. I am one of the smallest fighters in the light heavyweight category, but I have a huge heart. The opponent ran around the cage and I caught him, I kept going and created pressure, so I think I deserved the win. “

I’m not sure what fight the judges are watching, but I had Bukauskas 2-1

OK DAD UFC. Bukauskas won all 3 rounds easily as he almost finished it 2 or 3 times. Oleksiejczuk advanced by hitting some decent shots in 3 rounds 2-3 times and Bukauskas didn’t even feel all but one of them. Bukauskas came close to finishing him off many times and he never got into trouble.

Another bad decision from the judges … 29-28 Bukauskas in the worst case. Perfect storyline for live scoring. If the fighters know how the judges are scoring, they can adapt mid-fight. # UFC260

Decisions like the one Bukauskas just experienced is the reason the UFC is falling apart for me. I’m tired of the fights that go to the scorecard. There must be more than 3 judges. You must have a clear understanding of punctuation. Does it have to be a 10 point system? # ufc260

I personally thought Bukauskas took that

He took shots and had better movement. Most of the time Michal went ahead and missed and Bukauskas made many of his shots after R1. Absolute joke

Importance matters, not just number. Bukauskas had it almost finished, but he was never in danger himself.

Should have gone 5-0 in the # UFC260 preliminaries. I was robbed in the Bukauskas fight
– Jeff Fox (@JeffFoxWriter) March 28, 2021
6-1 in the picks so far tonight, it only made Bukauskas wrong and is considered a bad decision by most. Three fights to go. # UFC260
