Also, as of Tuesday, employees of the public prosecutor’s offices, courts, notaries, bailiffs and their employees who have direct contact (permanent or temporary) with other people are also invited to periodic preventive tests.

For the rapid antigen test, the sample is collected in a minimally invasive manner, inserting 1.5 to 2-centimeter swabs into the anterior nasal cavity and inverting them several times. Regular detection by this method helps to detect coronavirus infection at an early stage and thus control its further spread among humans. Prophylactic COVID-19 screening is recommended for state designated groups periodically every 7 to 10 days. People in these groups can also be tested for antibodies that are produced after a coronavirus infection.

Currently, the following people are invited to take the test for free:

– personal health workers; – employees of social service institutions; – employees of educational institutions; – psychologists, psychotherapists; – pharmacy staff; – employees of museums, other exhibition spaces, libraries, reading rooms of state archives and the directorates of state cultural reserves; – employees of professional performing arts groups (choirs, theater groups, orchestras, etc.); – employees who perform important functions for the state, who work in companies important to ensure national security; – tissue farm workers; – specialists working in the internal affairs system, customs, police officers, firefighters and rescue workers, etc .; – employees and volunteers of institutions, establishments and organizations that ensure the control of compliance with the measures of the quarantine regime of the Republic of Lithuania; – NEW – employees of prosecutors, courts, notaries, bailiffs and their employees.

Prophylactic tests, regardless of the study group, are not appropriate and are not performed in people who have a history of coronavirus and it has been less than 180 days since a positive PCR or antigen test result. Also for those who test positive for serological antibodies against coronavirus if less than 60 days have passed and who have been vaccinated against a coronavirus according to a full vaccination schedule for less than 180 days.

The tests are carried out at municipal mobile points, registration for the rapid antigen test can be done by calling the Coronavir Hotline at 1808 or by electronic registration at www.1808.lt.

At the initiative of the Ministry of Health, data on the use of COVID-19 mobile points in the country is open. By planning the day and time of the preventive examination, everyone can see the status of the examination organization in their residential area.

It is expected that the opening of these data will help municipal administrations to give a more agile and agile response to the investigation on the needs of the population belonging to the target groups.
