During this week, the number of infected COVID-19 in Klaipėda started to grow again. The infection is spreading in medical and educational institutions, as well as businesses. Hygienists say that people have been too relaxed and simply no longer paying attention to current recommendations.

Although a total of 38 COVID-19 patients are currently being treated at Klaipeda University Hospital and infected workers are no longer being diagnosed at the institution, the number of coronavirus cases in the city has risen this week compared to the last year.

“During this week, the incidence of COVID-19 in Klaipeda has increased. There were 257 people infected on Monday and 271 on Friday. From a few to several people are sick, ”confirmed Raimundas Grigaliūnas, Head of the Klaipėda Department of the National Center for Public Health.

According to him, people have been too relaxed, in some places even the mandatory requirements are no longer met and the recommendations for interior disinfection have not been withdrawn.

“Those recommendations to institutions remain valid and should be implemented. Stairs in apartment buildings should also be cleaned from time to time with a wet disinfectant, and stairs should be constantly ventilated. Is that what people do, he asks ? It is useful to ventilate the stairs not only because of this virus, but also because of other hygiene problems, ”said R. Grigaliūnas.

According to the interlocutor, people in public transport seem to have forgotten that the quarantine has not been lifted.

The bus can only be used by as many people as can accommodate passengers seated at the chess set, and there are no instructions for carrying standing passengers. However, some people ignore it.

According to the newspaper, public transport is disinfected several times a day.

However, as happened during the first quarantine, the streets and sidewalks of the city are no longer disinfected.

This is said to have been abandoned not only because of weather conditions, but also because of warnings from the World Health Organization that street spraying may be ineffective, does not help destroy the coronavirus, and even poses a risk to the Human health.
