The NSPL is updating the information: 108 new cases of the “British” variety have been identified

This week a total of 499 samples were analyzed. In the laboratory of the Vilnius University Hospital (VUL) Clinicas Santara – 376 samples, of which 78 cases of the aforementioned line were detected.
Eighty-two samples were examined in the laboratory of the Kaunas Clinics of the Lithuanian University Health Sciences Hospital (LSMUL), 20 of them with the B.1.1.7 line.
26 tests were carried out in the laboratory of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU), of which 8 cases with the B.1.1.7 line.
The laboratory of the Life Sciences Center (GMC) of Vilnius University (VU) carried out 24 tests and found 2 cases.

Of all the identified cases, 68 are assigned to Vilnius County, 11 to Marijampolė County, 6 to Klaipėda County, 5 to Kaunas and Telšiai Counties, 3 to Panevėžys County, 2 to Tauragė, Alytus, Utena and Counties from Šiauliai, and one of the men indicated his place of residence in Spain. For another sample, county information is being reviewed.

In Lithuania, a total of 1513 sample sequences were performed, according to the sequencing project coordinated by NVSPL, and 188 cases of the B.1.1.7 virus line were detected.

Another study report is expected this week, so the data will be updated.
