The letter, signed by Mayor Jim Strickland, will go into effect Monday, but Grizzlies basketball players will have to wait a few more days to return to the gym, as NBA clubs in quarantined states may return to the training centers on May 8 with all security measures.
After the Commercial Campaign contacted the club earlier in the week and asked about the possibility of returning to training soon, the latter remained mysterious and did not guarantee that basketball players were happy in the training center from day one.
“We are currently reviewing the criteria submitted by the league, only in strict accordance with which we could return our basketball players to practice,” club president Jason Wexler told reporters.
USA Today has shared a list of league-created safety requirements that must be met during training. For example, there could be only four people in one room at a time; the trainings would be individual; a distance of at least 3.5 meters between people; only one person can shoot in a basket.
