P. Kibiša, director of the Kaunas City Polyclinic, which carries out the vaccination process 15 minutes He said Tuesday that this could have been the case.
He explained that the SPC states that the booster vaccination should be given 4 to 12 weeks after the first dose.
“Initially, as with all vaccines, it was said that we should do the booster shot after 4 weeks,” he said.
About a month ago, he said, the interpretation of the Ministry of Health changed.
“We have received a clear and firm instruction from the Ministry to postpone the booster vaccination after 12 weeks, for the maximum period specified by the manufacturer, which guarantees maximum immunity,” said P. Kibiša.
According to him, for this reason visiting hours are postponed, but sometimes the information does not “go”.

“Of course, people cannot get that information or read it and therefore they make a mistake. So we apologize for the inconvenience, but unfortunately we cannot do otherwise because we have very clear instructions,” he said.
Kibiša said that people were not satisfied with this decision.
He assured that this had nothing to do with the problems posed by the AstraZeneca vaccine in some countries.
The interviewee noted that the vaccination center did not receive the AstraZeneca vaccine from the flock that had recently been vaccinated.
“Fortunately, this did not interrupt our vaccination process,” he stressed.
Vaccination against COVID-19 in Kaunas is carried out only at Kaunas Ice Palace. Recently, the Kaunas City Municipality announced that it is possible to register for vaccination here online on a specially created platform https://vakcinavimas.kaunas.lt/.
According to the report, people aged 65 and over are currently being vaccinated in Kaunas. Family members of the person can also register for the vaccination online by logging in through their accounts.
