The thirteenth shipment of BioNTech and Pfizer coronavirus vaccines (COVID-19) was shipped to Lithuania on Monday morning. It consists of 31,590 doses of vaccine, most of which will reach the municipalities today.
When the cargo arrived in Lithuania, the manufacturer reported that the temperature of the cargo may deviate from the required standard during transportation. The suspicion arose for the 11,700 doses of the vaccine, for which its sale was temporarily suspended and its quality evaluation began.
After informing the manufacturer on Monday afternoon that 5,850 doses of the vaccine could be used, they also went to the vaccination centers. The remaining vaccines will be stored in the Sanitary Emergency Center warehouse until the manufacturer confirms that they can be used.
RENOVATED. On Monday evening, the manufacturer informed the Health Ministry that the remaining part of the shipment (5,850 doses of the vaccine) was suitable for further distribution and use.
Since the end of December, BioNTech and Pfizer have delivered 299.7 thousand tons to Lithuania. dose of vaccine, 261,1 thousand. it is already used for the vaccination of the population.
In total, 253 thousand people in the country received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. 609 people, both doses – 98 thousand. 924 people.
