“Palanga is not on the list of red municipalities, we are in the yellow zone, so people from all over Lithuania can come to Palanga, except from the red zones, which are restricted. A total of sixteen municipalities. Generally speaking, Klaipeda residents, if they don’t go for work or medical reasons, they wouldn’t be able to go to Palanga, ”says Š. Be quiet.

Immediately after the government’s decision, little time passed, so Š. Vaitkus says he hasn’t discussed all the niceties with the police officers yet, but says based on what he’s heard, there shouldn’t have been any posts near Palanga.

“It just came to our attention then. Without knowing the government’s decision, this morning we discussed with the Commissioner that if the municipalities could move, how could we make sure that the people on the Palanga bridge or on J. Basanavičiaus street do not cause big It must be taken into account that outdoors, if it is not possible to ensure a distance of two years, people must wear masks outdoors. The police will control it and urge people to comply with the quarantine “, says the mayor of Palanga.

Good news for representatives of leisure companies: hotels are also starting to operate in Palanga. However, the mayor urges not to forget that only a few diseases in the city will be enough and Palanga will enter the red zone again.

“God forbid, those institutions will be closed again, we must take the situation very seriously and try to prevent it from spreading as much as possible. I think the reduction is very good, but the situation is very fragile. When we are small towns, ten cases are enough and we are in the red zone again. People must understand that they must take the situation very seriously. I wouldn’t want anyone to close for the third time, because then the business wouldn’t survive, ”says Š. Be quiet.

On Monday, the Ministry of Health (SAM) proposes to the government after March 15 to change the quarantine rules for internal movements. The Cabinet of Ministers approved this proposal and decided to lift movement restrictions in some municipalities as of Tuesday. Data analyst: We see a small increase

Government data analyst Aistis Šimaitis presented the latest data on the pandemic to the Cabinet of Ministers.

“We are in a similar place to where we were 3-4 weeks ago, when it seemed that the rise was beginning, but it did not turn into a big bang. The indicators show that it is now a low stage ”, A. Šimaitis, a government analyst, presented the data at the government meeting.

He said that the acceleration of the pandemic is again positive, although small, there is no sustainable position, there are waves in different regions of the country.

“We seem to be wavering a bit,” said the data analyst.

He said there is no indication that the situation will get worse anytime soon, but there is no indication that it will improve.

A. Šimaitis stated that the Lithuanian strain of coronavirus dominates in Lithuania, but the number of cases of the British strain is starting to increase.

“You can say that in Vilnius there are many more British varieties than in February, it may even be dominant,” said the data analyst.

He stated that regional clusters can be seen throughout Lithuania.

“We are in such an unstable situation, there is an increase in cases. But it is good that there has not been a big explosion of cases, as in some other countries due to the quarantine measures applied, “said A. Šimaitis at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Monday.
