Requires an outpatient clinic

“It just came to our attention then. We become very poor without medical help. There are pains, you need to inject medication and there is nowhere. I have to call an ambulance almost every day,” the patients at the Primary Health Care Center in Residents of the villages of Žibartoniai, Mitriūnai, Raičionys, Linkaučiai, Burveliai, Žydeliai, Krekenava sent an email to Sekunde.

“Among many of our cardiology patients, there are diabetics, they need blood tests and nothing. R. Veryga has relaxed quarantine conditions, most outpatient clinics are already operating and we are not aware, “the letter’s authors stated.

Such a request for help was unexpected for Nijola Lekarauskienė, chief physician of the Krekenava Primary Health Care Center.

“It just caught my eye then. As a manager, no one approached me to be wrong. We work as we please,” explained the doctor.

According to her, the order is established on the website of the institution, as is currently the case. According to her, the outpatient clinic has long opened its doors, as soon as the plan was approved, as needed. This was done on May 11.

Two patients per hour

According to N. Lekarauskienė, as everywhere else in Krekenava, remote consultation with patients is given priority, but a timetable has also been set when people are admitted. Currently, only two people can reach doctors per hour so far, because after each admission, the office must be disinfected and ventilated.

According to the chief physician, it would be impossible to snuggle faster. N. Lekarauskienė states that there is no direct consultation with doctors, there are no patient queues. But, as in all medical institutions, the number of remote consultations has increased: medications are prescribed electronically, the certificate of incapacity for work is issued and references are issued.

“A lot happens remotely and successfully,” says the chief physician.

According to her, the blood tests are taken in the same order.

“Whether it is a blood test or health problems, the situation is exactly the same. Disinfection is necessary. Now we have to live harder,” explained N. Lekarauskienė.

Come and chat

According to N. Lekarauskienė, the institution was not closed during the strict quarantine, it provided the necessary and urgent assistance.

“People came in or called and that help was provided. We are very happy that we did not have COVID-19 in Krekenava, ”says the doctor.

According to her, before the pandemic that shook the world and disrupted the normal rhythm of life, people were in a hurry to see doctors, not necessarily out of urgent need.

“It just came to our attention then. Doctors say some people came to talk, to communicate with each other. On the other hand, communication is also part of the treatment. Medications, just somewhere. You communicate, you speak, you wake up in another environment, calms down. See that they are cared for and immediately easier. It is a shame, now it is not over, “considers N. Lekarauskienė.
