A Paris court on Monday sentenced former French President Nicolas Sarkozy to one year in prison in a case in which he was accused of corruption.

According to the prosecutor, Sarkozy helped judge Gilbert Azibertuipost in Monaco exchange inside information about another investigation into allegations that his 2007 presidential campaign had received illegal funding from L’Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt.
Sarkozy took advantage of his status as a former president by pronouncing the verdict on Judge Christine Mee. And add that the violations of the former president are very serious.
The testimony includes data obtained from a telephone conversation between Sarkozy and his longtime lawyer, Thierry Herzog. The follow-up was granted in three investigations into the alleged financing of Sarkozy’s 2007 campaign in Libya.
Sarkozy and Herzog showed that the hearings violated the privilege of the client and the lawyer, but the courts rejected the claims.
Mr. Sarkozy’s former attorney, Th. Herzong and Judge G. Azibert himself were sentenced to such a long sentence.
The former president himself told the court that he would never commit the slightest act of corruption.

Sarkozy, accused of corruption and undue pressure, will face up to 10 years in prison.
The verdict is the latest twist in the former president’s tumultuous political career. 66 years of the French government of N. Sarkozy from 2007 to 2012.
It is still the favorite of many deinij. The conviction is likely to undermine any of his attempts to break the chain of politics, and while he denies such ambitions himself, much of his ally is talking about it in the run-up to the 2022 presidential election.
After the end of his term, only one other French president, Jacques Chirac, the political patron of French President N. Sarkozy, had been tried, but he did not have to participate in the 2011 corruption lawsuit due to poor health.
Chirac was sentenced to two years in prison for creating a fake job in the Paris city hall when he was mayor of the capital and was seeking funding for his party.
Sarkozy’s verdict relates to one of at least four separate investigations into him.
