The most important exams: Lithuanian language and literature and mathematics will be given for 10 calendar days, the time of the exams will be extended by 15 minutes.

The government plans to allocate additional funds to teachers to pay for the additional work. Schools will be asked to provide at least 20 additional hours of counseling. The consultations will be distributed by the schools themselves according to the subjects.

The speaking portions of the foreign language exams have also been postponed to June.

This year, taking into account the suggestions of teachers and students, the objective was to advance the exams, but also to provide additional support to the graduates.

At the request of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, the government has already allocated funds to help close the gaps that have emerged during distance education. As many graduates as possible are expected to have access to additional consultations.

Rūta Krasauskienė, Director of the National Agency for Education, presented at a press conference the security measures envisaged during the maturity exams.

“As in the previous year, the description stipulates that the premises where the maturity examinations are carried out are prepared no later than 12 hours before the examination, in accordance with SAM’s recommendations, to ensure the cleanliness, disinfection and ventilation of the premises. The flow of candidates is regulated in such a way that close contact is avoided, ”R. Krasauskienė presented the future procedure.

During exams that allow the use of computers or dictionaries, these tools will be disinfected and disposable gloves will be used.

Like last year, there can be no more than nine candidates in a room, and the information technology exam can be taken in a group of six.

The exam time will be extended by 15 minutes, this was decided based on last year’s experience.

Delphi recalls that the Minister of Education, Science and Sports, J. Šiugždinienė, announced some time ago that examinations must be taken, they cannot be waived.

After an extremely strict quarantine at the end of last year, the students continue their studies remotely. At the moment, an experiment is being carried out in one of the Vilnius progymnasiums, where primary school children have returned to classes and their families are being tested.
