Unlike 112, the number 113 does not have priority in the networks of communication and calls are not received by callers. BPC must take care of calls to communication numbers 03, 103 and 033 throughout the territory of Lithuania according to the schedule approved by the Minister of Health and the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania until March 31, 2021. As of October 2020, the short phone numbers of the ambulance service in the service areas of the Panevėžys, Klaipėda and Šiauliai ambulance stations have already been taken over and managed. After taking over the call flows and in the territory served by the Public Institution “Ambulance Medical Station”, BPC will manage short calls from the ambulance service already in most of the territory of Lithuania.

According to the Government Resolution on short phone numbers of emergency services, as of October 1, 2021, only one emergency phone number, 112, will remain in Lithuania for all requests for assistance, notes the BPC report. Calls to the above numbers 01, 101, 011, 02, 102, 022, 03, 033 and 103 will be notified by an automatic voice recording that you should call the emergency number 112 in case of emergency. The old numbers will no longer be used and will be shut down in April 2022.
