The report said the athlete was seriously injured when the car he was driving veered off the road near Los Angeles and rolled over multiple times.
Police officers who arrived at the crash site said the golfer was “very lucky” to have survived, but both legs were seriously injured.
Too early in the morning crash, Woods did not appear to be affected by drugs or alcohol. When he was released from the car, he was rushed to the hospital and operated on, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said.
The accident occurred on a steep incline known as the “black stretch” due to a major accident. According to the sheriff, Woods, who had no other people in the car, was driving “faster than usual.”
“I would say he told Mr. Woods a lot that he survived after all this,” said police officer Carlos González, who was the first to arrive at the scene.
González found Woods pressed in a car, but deliberate. He seemed “calm and sober” and also introduced himself to an officer like Tiger.
“It is my understanding that both legs are seriously injured,” said Los Angeles County Fire Department Chief Daryl Osby. He described Woods’ condition as “stable.”
Firefighters and paramedics removed T. Woods from the wrecked ATV, immobilized him, and took him to a local hospital where the athlete underwent surgery.
“There is currently no evidence that he has been affected” by drugs, drugs or alcohol, Villanueva said, adding that the incident was under investigation.

A golfer was pulled from the wrecked car with only special tools and transported to hospital when rescuers arrived.
According to T. Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, the athlete had injured his legs in many places. “He’s in the surgery department,” he told Golf Digest.
