Professor Mindaugas Stankūnas from the Department of Health Management at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) stated at a press conference that the experts had decided and offered to the Government to abandon the use of masks in the open air.

It is also recommended to abandon cotton masks, shields, medical masks or respirators should be worn.
“We also recommend that you give up all other substitutes for masks: scarves, shields. And you should wear medical masks or respirators, ”said a representative from LSMU.
In requesting clarification, M. Stankūnas stated that in certain cases, respirators must be used when providing personal services that last a long time.
“But I still cannot give a detailed answer, there is a discussion. Yesterday started where and when. Experts suggest extending the quarantine
Vaidotas Grigas, director of the Molėtai Hospital, told a press conference that experts support the extension of the quarantine.

The fact that the number of cases determined by itself has reached such a level that it no longer decreases, even a certain increase is appreciated. It is certainly not the case. called third wave what has been transmitted, but it is worrying. The number of hospitalizations per day has not decreased as one would like, “said V. Grigas.
“The government will consider and accept our proposal, whether it continues or not,” said the director of the Molėtai Hospital.
He said he would propose to extend the quarantine not for a week but for a longer period of time, but this was left to the government to decide.
When asked what conditions promise to extend the quarantine, V. Grigas said that it will not necessarily be a tightening of the conditions.
“We talked together about the concept of quarantine. But every week, a group of experts discusses which areas can be facilitated. Naturally, that announcement of an extension of the quarantine is not a tightening of conditions. Because if we ran completely free, imagine what it would be like: everything would relax at the same time ”, said V. Grigas, director of the Molėtai Hospital.
The government will decide on all these proposals in a meeting on Wednesday.
