I received letters from managers

Teachers at Alytus Likiškėliai Progymnasium received a letter from the principal telling them that teachers who had not been vaccinated and refused to carry out a preventive investigation could be removed from work and paid for free.

For his part, Andrius Navickas, president of the Union of Education Workers, acknowledged that teachers in other Lithuanian schools also received such reports.

“The teachers really want to go back to work as soon as possible and get vaccinated if necessary. Now that pressure is giving the opposite reaction and that doubt arises. Especially from the municipality of Kaunas (we received – aut.p.) such complaints that the managers have received such instructions from the municipality to guarantee vaccination or testing, which, in our opinion, it should not be. The latest explanation from the ministry shows that it is not mandatory, “stressed A. Navickas.
