The accused is suspected to have suffered his own daughter. In the spring of last year, employees of a Children’s Day Center operating in the Kaunas region noticed bruises on the body of a minor visiting the center. They were in his arms, legs, chest, back.
At first, the girl said she got sick while playing, but later explained that her father hit her at home. For not manipulating her toys, she allegedly hit her daughter with a cell phone charger cable. The girl said she was not the only one affected by her father: the man allegedly hit his mother with a stick.
Childless behavior
Suspecting violence, the girl was removed from her home and placed in a temporary guardian. The latter was suspected for the childless behavior of a minor, so the room was registered to consult with a psychologist.
When a specialist suspected that the girl might have been sexually abused, she was assigned an expert examination. During the same, it was established that the father could have committed abusive acts against the minor.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by officers from the 3rd Division of the Serious Crimes Investigation Board of the Kaunas County Criminal Police, and were led by the First Division Prosecutor of the Kaunas Regional Prosecutor’s Office. Virginijus Mizaras.
According to prosecutor V. Mizar, the indifference of specialists working with children helped discover that the minor was possibly being mistreated in the family. Too bad, but the girl received no help or intercession from her mother.
The Penal Code establishes the restriction, arrest or imprisonment of a person under the age of 16 for up to 5 years. A fine, arrest, or imprisonment of up to 2 years is provided for causing physical pain or minor health problems.
The case was transferred to the Kaunas Chamber of the Kaunas District Court.
The news portal tv3.lt has already written that the complaints have been made officially against the minor’s father for minor health disorders and pain (according to Article 140 (3) of the Penal Code (CC)), abuse (according to Article 153 (1) of the CC) and minor health disorder (in accordance with article 138, paragraph 2, point 1 of the CC).
It was confirmed that no suspicions had been raised against the minor mother. The girl’s father is currently in custody because of a written commitment not to leave and is obligated not to contact or seek contact with his daughter.
