The Ministry of Health (SAM) has updated its public COVID-19 vaccination plan to take into account the vaccine delivery plans submitted by pharmaceutical companies AstraZeneca, BioNTech and Pfizer, as well as Moderna.

If manufacturers ensure a stable supply of vaccines, all people over 65 will be vaccinated in the first quarter of this year, according to an updated vaccination plan, with mass vaccination starting this spring. The plan will be updated when new data is received on the quantities of vaccines delivered to Lithuania.

Following the recommendations of the World Health Organization, the State Medicines Control Agency and the Independent Expert Advisory Council, the decision has been made to vaccinate AstraZeneca in people over 18 years of age. It has also been decided to vaccinate the entire population over 18 years of age with this manufacturer’s vaccine, with an interval of 12 weeks between the first and second vaccination.

The vaccination plan and other relevant information about vaccines can be found on the Koronastop.lt website.
