WHO Warning
The World Health Organization (WHO) continues to warn against over-optimism in the face of the decline in new coronavirus cases. A victory against the virus has yet to be seen, WHO expert Mike Ryan said in Geneva on Monday. He stressed that “this virus still has a high infectious power.”
The virus may appear to be weakening for a while, but, like last fall, it could suddenly start spreading again, the expert said. However, according to him, the reactions of states to the epidemiological situation due to vaccination in a few months may look different from the current ones. As soon as the most vulnerable people are protected, other solutions will be possible, Rynas said.
