According to the director of the electronic beauty services platform, through which residents can register for beauty services, the number of clients is breaking records. They are addressed as much as they are sometimes received in just a week or even longer. The most popular procedures are hair coloring and men’s haircuts.

“Really, people are yearning and yearning much more than during the first quarantine. In reality, it was only when the government announced that the showrooms could open on Monday that all customers rushed to take notes. And, like yesterday, we had a record number of requests that salons receive per day. This is really a large number of orders now, ”says Marija Antanaitytė, director of Treatwell in Lithuania.

“It just came to our attention then. Once confirmed, we can develop our business when the avalanche collapsed. Because there are endless calls, messages, correspondence, when, how, where, in an hour, ”says hairdresser-designer Eglė Saunorytė.

Passersby respond to the opportunity to visit beauty salons on the street in a positive way, but certainly not everyone is in a hurry to register for procedures. It is true that some are even willing to pay more.

“I’m looking forward to the haircut and I appreciate it, I think it’s positive,” said the man.

“Sure, if it opens up, maybe it’s some kind of green light, but personal focus still doesn’t allow us to step forward. That said, are you still scared of that crown? I think so ”, said the interlocutor in the street.

“It really needs to be released, because of a person’s mental health, maybe they feel better when they cut,” said another woman.

“It’s really relevant, we’ve been waiting for it to open for a long time. (…) It is as soon as it is accepted, it is immediately. No, I haven’t tried yet (note – Delphi), but I think the queues will be terrible, “said the man.

Another man we met speculated that the services would be a bit more expensive. The woman she met considered that even a face should visit her.

So far no price increase

Beauty salons say they have no plans to raise prices yet. According to them, this period was difficult for everyone, so their goal was to win back customers and not dissuade them by high prices.

“You can not booty. The nonsense will come out. No, exactly the same in terms of prices. But what we notice after the first quarantine, maybe after this quarantine will be, I don’t know, but the clients who come, leave generous tips, “says hairdresser Valery Gigevich.

True, some representatives of beauty salons complain that the need to guarantee 20 square kilometers. meters of area per customer – a big problem. So he also adjusted the working hours, some will also work on holidays.

“It’s really right now, you can see for yourself that only 2 out of 5 jobs are busy. Realistically, the capacity is 20 to 25 percent. salon, this is such a small percentage, but of course you are happy to be able to start and work anyway, ”says the hairdresser.

“There are even salons where, unfortunately, you only have to work for one person, although before you could work in several at the same time. This, of course, causes the salons to extend their opening hours. I have also heard that many people think about opening on Sundays, although the salons are usually closed on Sundays. I also know that February 16, even though it is a holiday, there really are a lot of salons planning to work. These salons really try to accept as many people as possible, ”says the director of Treatwell in Lithuania.

According to the hairdresser-designer E. Saunorytė, each hairdresser decides according to their abilities how much the working day can increase and makes decisions: “In general, I imagine that if salons now wanted to and could, they could work 18 hours a day. That would be the number of people. “

Hairdressers are convinced that some of the requirements raise additional questions and considerable difficulties. Here, the hairdresser V. Gigevich says that during the quarantine he had to keep the premises for a payment of 257 euros received for individual activities, and some restrictions and their last minute changes require higher monetary costs.

“One of the requirements, which is so important, that it came out only on Friday night, we have already received a letter from SAM, is that the employees have to work with respirators. That is, there was a lot of talk on the social platform that hairdressers bought those disposable medical masks to give themselves and the client, because sometimes clients come up with uncomfortable cloth clogs made of hair. Where to put them now? ”, Asks the hairdresser V. Gigevič.

Some argue that there have indeed been cases of beauty masters who began working illegally during the quarantine period and did not plan to return from the shadows. Then another quarantine would not only cross the pockets of the tortured teachers, but also encourage the search for other alternatives.

“What we are noticing now is that the teachers themselves are migrating a lot from one classroom to another. We are the ones who have noticed this great change. Or they just leave the salons, but what happens after that, we really don’t know much. Are they just looking for another job, or do they decide to work from home, or maybe, as you said, go into the shadows, ”says M. Antanaitytė.

So hair salons don’t expect any more closings. The first day of work, according to beauty masters, is like an exam, bringing emotions of stress and joy into their lives.
