England, Wales and Northern Ireland

Mandatory isolation of British and Irish residents of ‘red list’ countries in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will take place in government-approved hotels in England, for which isolates will have to pay £ 1,750 each one. This amount includes the life of the hotel, transportation, and coronavirus testing. Isolation at the hotel will cost £ 650 for each additional adult or child over 12 years old and £ 325 for each child 5 to 12 years old.

It should be noted that people traveling from “red list” countries to Wales and Northern Ireland will have to isolate themselves in English hotels and only then continue their journey.

Hotel rooms must be booked in advance, prior to arrival in England, through the government website.

Scotland

The Scottish government has announced that all passengers arriving in Scotland by plane, regardless of their country of origin, will be required to stay in hotels.

Fines

People who do not comply with the above procedure face fines of between £ 5,000 and £ 10,000, and people who come from ‘red list’ countries but specify another country on their travel form will face up to 10 years in prison.

Additional tests

There is also a requirement that all passengers undergo a coronavirus test no more than 72 hours before the start of their journey before arriving in the UK and give British border guards a negative test if they wish to enter the country. People who fail the test are subject to fines of up to £ 500.

The requirement to remain in solitary confinement for up to 10 days will continue to apply to all persons arriving in the UK. Visitors will need to provide their contact details and address (where they will live during isolation). Guests can also travel to the isolation point by public transportation.

All passengers arriving in the UK will need to check in on the second and eight days of isolation, regardless of where the 10 days of isolation take place: at home or in a hotel. The National Health Service (NHS) tests will cost £ 210. Failure to do so will result in a £ 2,000 fine.
