487 new cases

Last day 487 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed, 19 people died from the infectious disease and the total number of deaths is 3,013.

The Department of Statistics announced that on Thursday it began the publication of data according to the new methodology. The number of patients was divided between the declared number of patients and the statistical number of patients.

“A declared patient is a person for whom a case of illness has been confirmed, but the illness card has not yet been closed, the end of the illness has not been confirmed by a doctor.” A statistically ill person is a person it has been confirmed for the disease in the last 28 days, “the report said.

According to the department, the statistical incidence rate may be more accurate in assessing population morbidity because reported cases may include cases in which a person is no longer active in the active form of COVID-19 but has not been confirmed by a family doctor for a variety of reasons.

Last day, 4,204 people received the first dose of the vaccine and 1,486 people received the second dose.

In Lithuania, the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine vaccinated a total of 84,000 people. 150 people, both doses – 51 thousand. 844 people.
