“Following the example of the Šivvintos district mayor, Živilė Pinskuvienė, today we carefully reviewed the official lists of coronavirus patients in the Kretinga district, presented in the information system of the National Public Health Center,” said the district mayor of Kretinga, Antanas Kalnius.

According to him, the system indicates that currently almost 450 people are ill in the Kretinga district. However, this year just over 230 coronaviruses have been confirmed, as of January 1. For the rest, the coronavirus was confirmed in December, November or even October of last year.

“I think, like you, I don’t think they are all sick yet,” said the mayor.

He said he had contacted the district’s medical facilities so that GPs could double-check whether all of their recovered patients were enrolled in the system.

However, delving into this situation, which was confirmed to me today by Ž.Pinskuvienė, it becomes clear that the problem runs deeper than simply “recovered” in the count in boxes not made by family doctors. It is true that we still do not know the exact number of patients, and because of the different systems of the different institutions, that they still do not “communicate” with each other. And the greatest burden of finding this detective in the number of patients will fall again on our doctors, “announced A. Kalnius.

He asked the professionals to review the data from the last two weeks.

Previously, the mayor of Plungė district, Audrius Klišonis, and the mayor of Širvintos Živilė Pinskuvienė reported the discrepancies.
