The news portal tv3.lt recalls that, according to the Ministry of Health (SAM), E. Kulikauskas offered to provide the services of a public consultant on his own initiative, and after a conversation with the Minister, greater cooperation was agreed.

However, some people were outraged by the expressions used in the recordings and comments of E. Kulikauskas. Medical comments with uncensored words began to spread on social media. The question was raised whether the choice of Minister A. Dulkis was appropriate.
The doctor himself spoke
E. Kulikauskas, who works as an abdominal surgery doctor, explained the situation to tv3.lt. According to him, blunt statements on social media are sometimes challenged by people who spread “darkness and ignorance.” After a long day of work in the hospital, these people sometimes simply bend their arms in front of them.
“My routine is something like this: you come to work, you have an urgent patient who needs surgery, because otherwise he will die. In the abdomen is a perforated intestine or stomach, or something else, taken by mouth, a mixture of intestinal contents, blood, pus and food. So you do everything without thinking about anything else, just to keep the patient alive. Just to survive.
Sometimes these patients are saved, and sometimes, despite all efforts, they die. Everything falls on you and takes everything inside. Then sit back and think about what else could have been done. Sit down and fill out a pile of paper. The next day everything repeats itself.

SAM: The Minister appreciates the experience of E. Kulikauskas
SAM does not comment much on the speeches of E. Kulikauskas on social media. Advisor to Minister Aistė Šuksta tv3.lt claims that a doctor’s skills are the most valued.
“The Minister appreciates the experience acquired by E. Kulikauskas and the initiative shown to contribute to the dialogue between doctors and the Ministry of Health,” says A. Šuksta.
SAM recalls that, in accordance with the Government Law, the Minister may, during his mandate, have public consultants who, at the Minister’s request, provide him with free consultations, proposals, conclusions and other information.
