The Ministry of Economy and Innovation announced last week that ski resorts could open first, easing the quarantine imposed by the spread of COVID-19, which drastically restricted business activity.

Later, according to the ministry, beauty salons and shops with separate entrances could be opened.

This information was confirmed on Monday. Health Minister Arūnas Dulkys announced that on Monday the government should decide on the opening of ski resorts, beauty salons and the aforementioned shops, during a regular meeting on Wednesday.

The Minister of Economy Aušrinė Armonaitė thanked the directors of the ski resorts for their constructive cooperation and their honest and responsible approach. The politician argued that the decision on these centers should take effect on Tuesday.

According to her, even when they are not in operation now, these centers are testing employees and preparing to open.

“I believe that together we will open safely and people will be able to enjoy winter not only in public spaces, but also in ski resorts,” said A.Armonaitė.

The minister also clarified that the Snow Arena located in Druskininkai will not be able to open because it operates abroad.
