CityBee, a smart mobility service provider, announces that as of now, sleds will be available in almost one-tenth of cars in Lithuania. According to company representatives, no one in the world has proposed a similar solution so far.
According to Kristijonas Kaikaris, director of CityBee, the sledding sharing service will not cost customers more. Its main objectives are to promote the maintenance of physical distance in winter entertainment venues and to develop a culture of sharing.
“On the one hand, it is important to improve the epidemiological situation in the country at this time, so with this decision we want to contribute to this objective in some way. On the other hand, we want to show that it is not necessary to buy all things these days. Especially those that will be used infrequently, and 90 percent. time they will just lie down and take their place. The items in this category are not just cars, but also sleds, ”explained K. Kaikaris.
Before the official launch of the service, CityBee sleds were initially left in only fifty of the company’s cars in Vilnius. The goal was to test the idea and test customer reaction to an unprecedented new solution.
The experiment, which lasted more than two weeks, showed that the demand for CityBee sleds increased significantly, with most of them moving to remote hills. There are only a few cases where the sleds disappear from the car. Furthermore, CityBee cars with sleds were observed to be distributed organically in various Lithuanian cities.
“Not only have we recorded gratifying results, showing that we are becoming a truly Nordic and responsible society, but we have also received sincere thanks. Encouraged by the successful trial period and heavy snowfall again, we decided to double the number of sleds. this week and continue this initiative until the weather conditions are right, “said Kaikaris.
Those who want to use the CityBee sleds can find them using the company’s app. It has carts with sleds and means to disinfect them, with a special marking. In addition to making it easier for sleds to find a more remote hill in Vilnius, CityBee has compiled and published a special map.
