1,787 individuals were isolated in the last day, of which 70,231 are currently in isolation, including people confirmed with COVID-19, according to the National Center for Public Health (NVSC).
There are currently 102 cases (of those for which epidemiological studies have been carried out) of cases in which the circumstances of the infection of individuals are not clear, that is, epidemiological studies have shown that the people did not go abroad and did not contacted confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Cases recorded in outbreaks
The chimney of the Mažeikiai hospital continues. During the last day, 2 cases of COVID-19 were identified in the Nursing and Support Care Unit.
4 cases of COVID-19 disease were confirmed in the Varniai PSPC nursing and supportive treatment hospital, 3 of them secondary for relatives and 1 for staff of the institution.
The new outbreaks in Vilnius county are associated with a company located in the Šalčininkai district, which sells building materials. Cases were also recorded in a printing company located in Vilnius. Cases were also recorded in a construction company operating in Vilnius.
Last day, NVSC specialists took measures to prevent further spread of the chimney in a shelter in the city of Vilnius (Vilkpėdės str. 12). A prophylactic screening of the population was organized to detect COVID-19 disease.
8 cases were registered in the Antaviliai pension during the last day. A chimney investigation is currently underway for a new outbreak, possibly related to the pension’s kitchen. COVID-19 disease has been identified in 5 kitchen workers who have no contact with patients or staff at the Antaviliai pension.
In Klaipėda county, a new outbreak was detected in the Rusnė special school. There were 2 employees in this educational institution. Another new outbreak was also detected in the “Inkarėlis” nursery school located in Klaipėda, where two employees became ill.
A new chimney has been installed in the Neringa Municipal Fire and Rescue Service, where 4 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in recent days.
Another new outbreak occurred in a Klaipėda company engaged in metal processing. Here 3 new cases have been identified, with a total of 5 cases associated with the outbreak. The epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
14 cases confirmed last day are associated with the outbreak at the Padvariai welfare home in Kretinga d. Here, 3 workers, 10 residents and a person in the immediate vicinity fell ill.
Outbreak cases have also been identified in the “Giliukas” and “Puriena” kindergartens in the city of Klaipėda. In addition, the new cases detected in Klaipėda County are related to outbreaks in companies dedicated to food production, wood processing, a company dedicated to handling cargo in ports and a company dedicated to auto repair.
14 cases were confirmed in the Legailiai nursing home in Biržai district during the last day. Cases were approved for 12 residents and 2 employees of these residences.
According to the data currently available to the NVSC, 65 cases related to outbreaks in families were recorded in Lithuania on the last day.
