The new outbreaks in Vilnius county are associated with a company located in the Šalčininkai district, which sells building materials. Cases were also recorded in a printing company located in Vilnius. Cases were also recorded in a construction company operating in Vilnius.

Yesterday, NVSC specialists took measures to prevent further spread of the chimney in the Vilnius city hostel (Vilkpėdės str. 12). A prophylactic screening of the population was organized to detect COVID-19 disease.

During yesterday 8 cases were registered in the Antaviliai pension. A fireplace investigation is currently underway for a new outbreak possibly related to the pension’s kitchen. COVID-19 disease has been identified in 5 kitchen workers who have no contact with patients or staff at the Antaviliai pension.

In Klaipėda county, a new outbreak was detected in the Rusnė special school. There were 2 employees in this educational institution. Another new outbreak was also detected in the “Inkarėlis” nursery school located in Klaipėda, where two employees became ill.

A new chimney has been installed in the Neringa Municipal Fire and Rescue Service, where 4 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in recent days.

Another new outbreak occurred in a Klaipėda company engaged in metal processing. Here 3 new cases have been identified, with a total of 5 cases associated with the outbreak. The epidemiological investigation is ongoing.

14 cases confirmed yesterday are associated with the outbreak in the Padvariai welfare home in Kretinga district. Here, 3 workers, 10 residents and a person in the immediate vicinity fell ill.

Outbreak cases have also been identified in the “Giliukas” and “Puriena” kindergartens in the city of Klaipėda. In addition, the new cases detected in Klaipėda County are related to outbreaks in companies dedicated to food production, wood processing, a company dedicated to handling cargo in ports and a company dedicated to auto repair.

Yesterday 14 cases were confirmed in the Legailiai nursing home in Biržai district. Cases were approved for 12 residents and 2 employees of these residences.

According to currently available data, 65 cases related to outbreaks in families were recorded in Lithuania on the last day.

For their part, public health professionals urge people to follow all measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection: hand hygiene, coughing, sneeze etiquette, use of personal protective equipment, physical distance and more. .

People ages 50 to 99 died of coronavirus last day

A total of 12 men and the same number of women died on the last day.

Most of the deaths, eight, were in the 80 to 89 age group.

Seven of the dead were between 70 and 79 years old, four between 60 and 69 years old, three between 50 and 59 years old and two between 90 and 99 years old.

The Department of Statistics indicates that “the number of deaths in the last day is preliminary and increases between 20 and 40 percent in a few days.”

The overall mortality statistics include another six deaths from coronavirus when the actual date of death is earlier.

They are three men and three women. Three of them were between 80 and 89 years old, two between 60 and 69 years old and one between 90 and 99 years old.
