“After all, people got married during the war and the plague, why should quarantine interfere? We are both optimistic, we hope it is good, we are not mistaken. The wedding was the type we dream of: cozy, in the circle of the closest people, “shares the couple.
Reda and Rock make no secret that the uncertainty about certain details is a bit annoying, but it didn’t ruin their mood.
“Until last week, we did not know how many people could attend the ceremony that took place in the church, or if we could have a quiet dinner with our parents and siblings. But here there are only small people, we always emphasize the meaning of marriage, in order to get married in two, without hairstyles and cakes.
Basically, the wedding plans did not collapse, the quarantine in late May was significantly relaxed. Only our guests kept their distance during the ceremony, covering their faces with masks. And we gave the guests not small sweets, but small bottles of disinfectant liquid, ”the spouses smile.
Started planning a quarantined honeymoon
After the wedding, his plans included a honeymoon in Cuba, which they planned in early January, without expecting the virus to spread that way around the world.
“I planned the entire trip myself, four flights were booked, many different places of accommodation. Although I worked hard, I felt bitter about the canceled trip only the first day we canceled it.
I think we will visit Cuba again, and this honeymoon is not worse. We joked that we were even better than planned, “says Reda.
A few months before the wedding, the couple realized that they could not enjoy a real honeymoon, so they had an original idea in mind.
“At that time, we were not only preparing for the wedding, but we were also looking for a new place to live. I joked that if we rented an expensive apartment, we could only go to the nearby Lithuanian of London or Switzerland. And then we thought, if A quarantine wedding is waiting for us, why not organize a quarantined honeymoon?
We really like to travel, we love London and Paris a lot, the husband’s brother lives in Switzerland, so these chosen places were not accidental either, we have actually been there, ”reveals Reda.
I wanted to entertain friends
The couple says that the preparations for the trip were completely easy. They chose the signs with the names of the countries fairly quickly and came up with certain ideas because they generally didn’t want to take photos:
“As soon as we decided to take photos on these signs, it immediately occurred to us how. We originally thought about having a picnic in Paris, and came up with ideas for other photos the next day. It was not difficult, we looked at everything with a smile, we knew where and how we would be dressed, what items would be necessary ”.
The couple went to the quarantined honeymoon the day after the wedding. Initially they thought the travel plan would be implemented quickly, but it took a while. It is true that the spouses took photos with the help of a camera tripod and a self-timer, so they are not very satisfied with the quality of the photos.
“So we thought we could catch everything, but the trip through Europe took longer than planned, the photo shoot had to be postponed, the mosquito bites.” We managed to take photos in two places, then the photo shoot had to be postponed for a few days while we were going to Nida.
We are not satisfied with the quality of the photos, but the goal of this entire trip was to entertain our friends, and I think we really achieved the goal, “says Reda.
Received a lot of attention
The couple also shared the photos of the honeymoon on Facebook, where they received a lot of attention. People praised them for their originality, their good humor, their ability to discover an ingenious solution even in a difficult situation.
“With this photo shoot we wanted to entertain friends, get to know Lithuania, we really didn’t think we would attract the attention of strangers. Recently, neighboring Latvians also started sharing photos, and a Latvian invites them to visit settlements with their interesting names. However, we did not emphasize all this too much, the most important thing is that we had a good time and had an unforgettable honeymoon, ”the spouses assure.
They say that many local people did not agree with the photos, but there was also some attention from them:
“In fact, not many people live in these villages, I think residents are used to photo shoots, we didn’t invent a bike, we just looked at this photo shoot from a different angle. We had to wait next to the traffic signs, we didn’t have to go to a new place as soon as I took the photo, people passing or passing smiled and beeped, but there weren’t many people they met. ”
The couple says that while there are still a number of interestingly named settlements in Lithuania that could be visited, they still don’t plan to continue the journey:
“Time will tell, there are many ideas in our heads. Several are related to the names of interesting places. However, we are not currently planning a specific” trip “.
