As Toma said (name changed, real name and surname are known to the editorial committee – author’s note), in the past, doctors always registered on sergu.lt. However, after starting to register via the e.sveikata.lt page, unexpected difficulties arose.
As Panevėžys’ spouse does not have electronic banking, he cannot register with the desired cardiologist through the e.sveikata.lt system. For this reason, the woman should call the Consultation Polyclinic of the Republican Panevėžys Hospital directly.
According to Tom, he has been calling the reception of the polyclinic every week for 2 months.
“I call several times a week. The last call was on January 4, it says: call on Wednesday January 6, the doctor will work that day, must provide schedules. I call in the morning – no, at noon – no, not for the afternoon, call me next week at night and I hang up. Tired as much as possible. Let’s deal with the doctors and draw conclusions if one does not have months ahead and the other – the next day, but nobody wants to go, “said the woman.
Panevėžys warns that it was much easier to register through the sergu.lt page, and now there are still a number of problems with the registration.

“A registrar hinted that when it is no longer possible to register via sergu.lt, many people complain. It was very convenient because it was possible to subscribe to a message when free time came. I registered with the best doctors. And now it is very uncomfortable, ”said the woman.
Offer a visit to another doctor
According to Vytautas Riaubiškis, representative of the Republican Hospital Panevėžys, there are currently no obstacles to access a cardiologist’s consultation at the polyclinic and there are free vouchers. It is true that it is no secret that access to certain doctors can be more complicated due to the queues that form.
The hospital also offered the Panevėžys to pass on their contacts so that the reception could contact her and register with a specialist, but the woman refused because she wanted to see a specific doctor and not other doctors.
“If a patient wants to see a specific doctor and does not want to disclose data or does not want help, then we cannot help. We draw your attention to the fact that sometimes queues are formed at individual specialists (not only cardiologists), but at the same time it is possible to freely enter another specialist. This is where the question arises: which is better? Wait in line or consult now? Because that wait can be fatal. And we will again blame the doctors … “, he wrote V. Riaubiškis in reply.
According to the hospital, the fact that the registration is made through the page e.sveikata.lt should not have been news to patients.

“We have been on our website since November. In the middle of the year, we constantly informed residents that patient registration through sergu.lt would only take place until December 31, and then registration would be done through e.sveikata.lt, so this should not have been news to the residents, ”added V. Riaubiškis.
Delfi contacted the Ministry of Health; We asked if the ministry was aware of patient dissatisfaction with the new physician registration system. According to SAM, this problem is known.
Here is the response from the Ministry.
The Ministry of Health (SAM) is aware of the dissatisfaction of patients with the fact that it is no longer possible to access the sergu.lt information system or the Pre-Patient Registration Information System (IPR IS) with a password. After the entry into force of the General Data Protection Regulation and in order to guarantee the security of patient data, as of 2020, the function of logging in with a password in the Sergu.lt information system has been eliminated. From now on, all users connect to the Sergu.lt information system, as well as to the IPR IS www.esveikata.lt/ipr or e. health systems www.esveikata.lt, you can only use the “Electronic Government Gateway” system, electronic banking, mobile signature.
Please note that the sergu.lt information system has been updated and linked to e. health system and the IPR IS is a new version of it. In order to increase the availability and accessibility of the services provided to people to receive necessary health care services, an obligation has been established for personal health care institutions belonging to the Lithuanian national health system to connect to the National IPR IS. This will improve the procedure for registering people on waiting lists for personal health care services and registering patients in the national IPR IS. In the near future, the Sergu.lt information system will not be maintained at all, and all pre-patient registrations will be done only through the IPR IS www.esveikata.lt/ipr.
At present, patients connected to the IPR IS can consult the times declared by the health institutions and register with the required specialist, as well as register their children or, by proxy, another person. Additionally, IPR IS has the ability to link the record to an electronic submission, view all of your records, cancel them, and receive a reminder of an upcoming visit.
Also taking into account the need of patients and healthcare professionals to improve the IPR IS, SAM, together with the main director of ESPBI IS – Records Center, is implementing the project “Development of the Pre-Patient Registration Information System”. The project aims to meet the needs of the project’s target groups: patients, medical institutions and institutions that oversee the health care sector and solve the problems of access to health care services: large queues with professionals from health, suboptimal use of visiting time, inconvenient registration for visits, lack of IPR IS functionalities, insufficient needs. . The objective of the IPR IS project is to streamline the processes of visiting healthcare professionals by making pre-registration more comfortable for the patient and allowing active monitoring of the system.

Doctors are noticing an increase in unwelcome illnesses
Earlier, the Republican Hospital Siauliai announced that the flow of patients in the Department of Emergency Medicine had increased since early 2021. Up to 20 percent arrive daily. more patients than in December 2020.
Most of these patients receive outpatient treatment after medical examinations and tests. However, according to the Šiauliai Hospital report, doctors also notice an alarming situation when patients who are diagnosed with advanced or long-lasting illnesses come to the hospital’s Emergency Department.

During the first week of January, several patients diagnosed with advanced oncological disease arrived daily at the Emergency Service. The patients had not been ill before, but had been experiencing symptoms for several months, but had not reported anywhere. Patients also arrive on a daily basis due to inadequate treatment and care for chronic diseases. Most often, these patients go to the Emergency Department for exacerbated heart failure, late arrhythmias, chest pain.
Surgeons also see an increase in the number of patients complicating chronic surgical disease, making their treatment much more complicated and lengthy, with a worse prognosis. Doctors encourage and ask patients to contact their family doctors immediately, to participate in prevention programs for breast, prostate, cervical, colon and cardiovascular disease, to investigate new complaints, to treat chronic diseases responsibly and discontinue treatment. .
