The Vilnius City Municipality Administration has signed an agreement on the architectural design services of the ice rink on Jotvingių Street. The capital’s ice rink will be designed by UAB Projektų rengimo centras and UAB Tiksl forma, and the project manager has been appointed by UAB Vilniaus vystymo kompanija.
“The development of sports infrastructure has been one of Vilnius’s priorities for many years: larger or smaller sports facilities are constantly emerging in the city, but the ice rink will be a truly exceptional project. For some time, we have felt that the capital lacks facilities for winter sports. The new modern ice rink will contribute first of all to the expansion of the range of non-formal education opportunities and the development of highly qualified athletes and, in the long term, to the promotion of hockey, figure skating and ice skating. in the country, ”said Valdas Benkunskas, Vilnius City Deputy Mayor for Sports.
The designed arena in the Naujininkai district will house two hockey rinks. One of them will be dedicated to hockey training, the other will also be adapted to figure skating. It is planned to host a spectator stand at the entrances of the latter, so that athletes will be able not only to train there, but also to organize competitions. The arena will also provide space for a skating rink and warm-up rooms and figure skating choreography.

The supplier group UAB Projektų rengimo centras and UAB Tiksl forma, which won the competition and operates on the basis of joint activities, will have to prepare a technical construction project. The companies will also prepare the parts of the layout of the site, architecture, constructions, interior foreseen in the work project, will create an informative model of the building and must receive a construction permit. The successful bidders of the tender agreed to provide the services within 270 business days with the possibility of extending the terms by a maximum of 120 business days. The technical construction project should be completed by 2022.
The designers will also oversee the execution of the construction project. The provision of these services will continue until the completion of the works. The total value of the signed contract is 330 thousand. euros.
