For several decades, the professor was actively concerned with the protection of the environment in Lithuania, carried out pollution research, developed advanced treatment plants and prepared future generations of environmentalists for responsible work.
Professor together with prof. Dr. Edita Baltrėnaitė-Gedienė created a Vertical Absorbent Biofilter that cleans the air of organic pollutants, which is evaluated by a European patent. The present invention helps to solve another problem: reducing odors.
Scientific activity
Prof. The active scientific activities basket of P. Baltrėnas contains 15 monographs, 4 scientific books, 24 teaching materials, 3 textbooks, more than 390 scientific publications, 82 inventions. He has presented his work at dozens of scientific conferences and has chaired 8 sections of international conferences. Research interests of the professor: theoretical and experimental investigation of the contamination of the technosphere, environmental technologies.
P. Baltrėnas developed dust control devices, air purification devices and means for the regeneration of these devices.
Pedagogical activities
For several decades, he has been teaching at VGTU, supervising student dissertations and dissertations, and has trained a large number of specialists working in the field of environmental protection.
