11 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Lithuania per day, the total number is 1705
On the last day, 11 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Lithuania, the total number increased to 1705, the Ministry of Health announced on Saturday.
Some of these cases, five, were confirmed on Friday. These cases are related to two separate celebrations that took place in Vilnius County.
Rolanda Lingienė, director of the Vilnius Department of the National Center for Public Health, informed BNS that, among the remaining six cases, three were registered in Klaipėda County, one in Šiauliai and two in Vilnius.
“There are three cases in Klaipėda County, two family members became ill, had symptoms, the third case in Klaipėda was imported from Nigeria, it is a member of the ship’s crew,” said R. Lingienė.
“In Šiauliai County, there is a case of importation from Sweden,” he said.
According to her, another case was also detected for a person who participated in the celebration in Vilnius County, among other things, a coronavirus was detected for an employee of a logistics company.
“An employee of a logistics company in Vilnius fell ill, visited a dental clinic, and specialists work at the clinic,” said R. Lingien Ling.
It did not reveal which specific institution the infected person visited.
