For Dust, who has received uncomfortable questions from the peasants, Skvernel’s wish: to call Veryga

After a part of the representatives of the peasant faction met in the Seimas Constitution Hall, they asked A. Dulkis, who had joined the meeting remotely.

The former Minister of Health, Aurelijus Veryga, asked A. Dulkis about the priorities for vaccination against coronavirus in cancer patients, about the process of building a group of infectious diseases and about the legalization of the sixth Pfizer vaccine and the vial of BioNTech vaccines.

For his part, A. Dulkys stated that he has received various proposals on vaccination priorities.

“Yesterday all the proposals were discussed by the expert council, I hope to receive a protocol of their agreement and then not only can this issue be reviewed, but more recommendations from the experts will be given, and then there will probably be some corrections,” said A. Dulkys.

Speaking about the sixth dose of the vaccine from a vaccine vial, A. Dulkys stated that this is an exceptional practice, but noted that precise clarification was expected from the European Medicines Agency.

“As it is a new product, the entire vaccination process must have a guarantee of safety and quality, (…) it was agreed that we must wait for a decision from the European Medicines Agency. We were preparing for it, the same day the decision was made, we informed the medical institutions and it was used by us, ”explained the Minister of Health.

A little later, faction member Agnė Širinskienė asked A. Dulkis not to wait for explanations from institutions in similar situations, but to act.

Skvernelis offered Dulk to speak to Veryga – not much can be found in the ministry drawers

Former Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis also asked questions. He was interested in an additional strategy to reduce the number of coronavirus cases in the country, as well as vaccination plans for older people.

At the same time, the politician conveyed his wishes to A. Dulkis.

“There is not much in the ministry. There is A. Veryga, so maybe I can make a videoconference (contact – aut.p.) – from which drawer, which document to take. You say you cannot find that, second or fifth, that the Government made those decisions ”, emphasized S. Skvernelis.

The former prime minister also wanted the minister not to forget the rest.

“You spoke today during the Government Hour that you do not count days or hours. Yes, the situation is complicated, but find time to rest. You, golden man, you only think about the state, but do not forget: this is also necessary for quality work, ”said S. Skvernelis.

Dulkys, for his part, assured him that he was in contact with the former minister.

“We are in contact with the esteemed Aurelius, even when I was not ‘legalized’, when I was only a candidate, we already established that connection,” said the minister.

Responding to questions from Mr. Skvernel, Mr. Dulkys also said that the experience of neighboring countries with different strategies was being reviewed, but acknowledged that the virus strain was a cause for concern.

“We must look with great responsibility when to relax what measures, this is the first thing,” emphasized A. Dulkys.

He also said that coordinators have been appointed for the vaccination process in the municipalities.

“Everything went quite well in this place from those five main regions, now we have moved to 64 medical institutions, we have a broader movement, but also more problems. The more geography expands, the more we are faced with non-compliance with the rules, their interpretations, disability, ”admitted A Dulkys, adding that family doctors would also be used to solve problems.

Companies that have incorrectly shipped vaccines expect a serious conversation: changes are possible

The Minister also received questions from Kęstutis Mažeika, a member of the LVŽS faction, about the safety of vaccine transport.

“The beginning is difficult, we try to respond to all the signals,” said A. Dulkys about the safety of vaccine logistics and possible transport interruptions.

According to him, yesterday there were problems with the transportation of the vaccine, which forced the ministry to temporarily suspend vaccination in several cities until it was learned that such alterations did not affect the quality of the vaccine.

“The more we expand the grafting processes, the more nuances appear throughout the ring. (…) These were not deviations sent by the manufacturer to Lithuania, it was the deviation in the course of Lithuanian transport. It seems that we are going to have a serious conversation with this company and maybe even changes ”, emphasized A. Dulkys.

The minister urged not to be afraid to criticize him: I accept criticism in a healthy way, maybe it will improve even more

In response to other questions from MPs, the minister urged them not to be afraid to criticize.

“Although I don’t have political experience, I’m very good and I understand that I have a healthy criticism. I accept it and I will accept it. So do not be afraid to criticize me, apparently it is necessary, I will improve more then ”, emphasized A. Dulkys.

The Minister emphasized that he will continue to consider various proposals on the groups of people to be vaccinated.

Asked about S. Čaplinskas’ incapacity for work

Asta Kubilienė, a member of the group, asked A. Dulkis about the director of the Center for Communicable Diseases and AIDS (ULAC) Saulius Čaplinskas, for whom A. Veryga had signed a dismissal order during his tenure, but then S. Čaplinskas received the inability to work, which continues to this day.

“The situation is the same when my colleague Aurelia left. Perhaps, unless something happened at the time, he would have remained unable to work this morning. That firing order has not gone into effect, “said A. Dulkys.

According to him, Sodra received a request to find out the validity of S. Čaplinskas’ incapacity for work and should do so.

At the same time, A. Dulkys assured that A. Veryga’s decision to dismiss the head of ULAC has not yet been changed.

“As far as I know, I have no basis, I do not see additional circumstances and I have not received any information that gives me legal force or sense to review those decisions,” emphasized A. Dulkys.

Minister: The new strains of the virus are worrying

New strains of the virus are of great concern, so the possibilities of releasing quarantine conditions must be evaluated very responsibly, A. Dulkys also emphasized at the meeting.

“We are very concerned about the strains of the virus, which indicate that we are fighting one thing, but (I do not know) what awaits us with those strains, be it those vaccines or tests, those tools may face new challenges,” on Thursday at a meeting remote with A. Dulkys said with the opposition factions of the Seimas.

According to him, the combination of public vaccination with quarantine restrictions “should seem very responsible when some measure must be launched, and combined, combined”.

“We see a combined strategy, the experience of neighboring countries is very clear, all of which have suddenly tightened (conditions), but only if a very easy hand fired but did not use other means, immediately go back to the second, third quarantine, “A. Dust said.

European Union countries are concerned about the spread of a new strain of the virus that has spread in the UK. Medical experts have tentatively said that the current spread of the “British” strain of the virus and another new strain found in South Africa are more contagious.
