According to an order approved by the minister, medical institutions must vaccinate priority groups in shifts, starting with the previous one.

And the next priority group will only be able to start vaccination if it has all the people in the current priority group vaccinated with the stock of COVID-19 vaccine available, or if, for objective reasons, it is not possible to vaccinate all the people in the priority group in time. above and there is an irrational delay. and unjustified.

If it is not possible to vaccinate the people on the reserve list within the established period, the institutions must follow the “rationality criterion”, consume all the diluted doses no later than the period specified in the SPC and vaccinate the priority group that indicated below at the vaccination site or in case of urgent need. to get to it.

In the order, the Minister also established a provision on liability: in case of violation of the procedure established for vaccination with COVID-19 vaccine, the liability established by legal acts for violations of legal acts that regulate the prevention of communicable diseases.

The responsibility of controlling the vaccination process and of verifying that the lists of vaccinated persons meet the requirements and that the vaccination is carried out in good faith rests with the directors of the municipal administrations.

President Gitanas Nausėda asked the Health Minister to review the vaccination schedule on Monday.

“The vaccination order planned by the Minister of Health should be reviewed, the principle of moving between a priority line and down should be clarified, so that the principles of when to move and when not to move are clear,” said his senior adviser Simonas Krėpšta. .

Who should get the vaccine first?

In accordance with the previously approved procedure, COVID-19 is administered primarily to personnel providing personal hospital medical care to COVID-19 patients and to students who are involved in providing services and in contact with COVID-19 patients.

Post-vaccines are administered to resuscitation and intensive care personnel, emergency department personnel, as well as emergency inpatient personnel, ambulance squad personnel, and students.

Vaccination staff should then be vaccinated to provide services to patients at increased risk of COVID-19 infection, such as those receiving immunosuppressive or chemotherapy treatment.

Next, vaccination is planned for patients at highest risk. Priority is given to patients with end-stage chronic kidney disease receiving continuous renal replacement therapy.

The following are patients who have had hematopoietic stem cell or organ transplants.

Patients with oncohematologic disease are then vaccinated when targeted chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or oncohematologic treatment is continued or completed, up to 24 months after completion.

They are followed by individuals with immunodeficiency diseases with an antibody production defect who are receiving immunoglobulin replacement therapy.

These will be followed by vaccinations from other personal health workers contributing to COVID-19 treatment, as well as people who volunteer at medical facilities for at least 4 hours. for no more than 14 consecutive days.

It is planned to vaccinate employees of medical institutions dependent on the Ministries of National Defense and Justice, as well as employees who come into contact with patients.

After them are the employees of mobile points and fever clinics.

It is then planned to vaccinate patients receiving supportive treatment and nursing services and employees who provide these services, followed by residents of social care institutions and employees and individuals who provide these services at home.

After vaccination of these groups, laboratory personnel conducting COVID-19 testing, including sampling, followed by vaccination of COVID-19 epidemiologists, who must attend outbreaks, will continue to be vaccinated.

The vaccination of all these groups is expected to include the vaccination of the remaining healthcare workers who do not belong to other categories. Post-pharmacy staff.
