R. Petraitis does not agree with the proposal presented by the Minister, BNS confirmed on Monday the representative of the Minister of Health Aist uksta.

Petraitis says he will decide not to resign because he believes the criticism against him is unfounded.

The public opinion of the Ministry of Health on the shortcomings of my activities as director of the NVSC is unfounded. I did not hear that justification from either the minister or any other responsible person, R. Petraitis told reporters on Monday.

I only heard very early political statements that the rooster must be slaughtered to bring the situation to a calmer position, he added.

R. Petraitis says that he received certain conditions of the agreement from the ministry for resignation, but did not elaborate.

I have received a proposal to leave the NVSC in the form of an agreement, subject to certain conditions of the agreement, I will not go into details about it, so I must make a SAM that can explain the reasons for such a decision. I will appreciate it, and I remembered the decision to continue my work at NVSC, he said.

The NVSC holder stated that he would take responsibility if a systemic deficiency was identified in his case.

Mr. Petraitis said he was disappointed that those responsible should remember that thinking was not the primary means of managing a pandemic.

I hope that all those responsible, from whom we have not heard anything like this lately, remember that thinking is not the main means of controlling the infection, because if it were the main means, it would be very easy to control, said the head of the NVSC.

This Friday, Minister Arnas Dulkys urged him to resign and was due to announce the decision before Monday.

At that time, A. Dulkys stated that if R. Petraitis did not agree to leave, he would have to find another way and take more bureaucratic actions.

NVSC’s management has come under fire for more than 1,000 unaccounted for coronavirus deaths. R. Petraitis, head of the institution, stated that the situation was not due to the lack of the institution that administered, but to the lack of information to the hospital in time.

Verification started

The Ministry of Health (SAM) announced on Monday an official inspection of R. Petraiis’ activities.

The decision to open an official inspection for possible misconduct was made after evaluating SAM expert submissions following a letter received by the head of the NVSC regarding an unaccounted for coronavirus-related death.
