However, there was no need for a formal decision, as upon arrival in Bivuaka, Loeb informed his team about the decision to leave in 2021. Dakar Rally.

At the Dakar Rally, Loeb performed better in 2017, finishing second. He also advanced to the ranks of the winners in 2019, when he finished third.
