While it is believed to be impossible to do so in the remaining 2 weeks, American Democrats still plan to launch an indictment against Donald Trump for his role in Wednesday’s events when presidential supporters invaded the Capitol.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has said she plans to prosecute him if Trump doesn’t resign. The indictment of “incitement to the uprising” is scheduled for Monday, reports the BBC.

D. Trump is accused of inciting congressional riot that killed five people.

Nearly 160 House Democrats signed a bill that California Congressman Ted Lieu and Rhode Island’s David Cicilline began working on as they hid in the chaos on Capitol Hill Wednesday.

If the process really moves forward, it would be the second time Trump has been charged. 2019 December. The Lower House accused D. Trump of abusing power and obstructing Congress. However, the Senate acquitted him of both charges in 2020. February.
