Today, the Jurbarkas district municipality released information that the fight against the coronavirus was lost by Steponas Česlovas Strodomskis, chief doctor of the Eržvilkas Primary Health Care Center, who also worked at the Tauragė Hospital.

The 72-year-old doctor battled the pandemic and did his duty until it became clear that the disease had taken hold of him.

Jurbarkas District Municipality announces that Steponas Česlovas Strodomskis came to Eržvilkas to live and work after studying at Kaunas Medical Institute in 1974. Since 1975 he has served as Chief Medical Officer at Eržvilkas District Hospital. Later he became the chief physician of the Eržvilkas Primary Health Care Center. The doctor has also worked at Tauragė Hospital.

S.Č Strodomskis also became an active member of the Sąjūdis movement and was elected a member of the first Jurbarkas district council after the restoration of independence.

“We have lost the Doctor, the light of the Eržvilkas community and a great person who has dedicated his entire life to the people of the Jurbarkas region,” said Jurbarkas district mayor Skirmantas Mockevičius in the municipal report.
